Movie synopsis?

General questions, FAQs about AIOS HD Media Center

Yes, on PC, too. It is the bottom of the text as well as some of the text that appears on that line in the middle. Almost as if the font is too large. But I don't see any option to set the different font.

I fixed it. You need to download ThumbGen Designer, select the templates that don't look right (text cropped), find the fields which contain wrong sized font and click on box which says "autosize text". That's it. Really easy. For some reason, by default these boxes are left unchecked which causes problems with font display. BTW, Arial is a default font, you don't need to download anything.

The downside is - you have to regenerate this for all movies in your list. I do it in auto mode and it does a good job unattended. When it's done, I go in there and fix movies with incorrect info, which is much quicker and easier then doing the whole thing manually, one movie at the time.

Thanks for the update, I totally lost this one (though the whole generated sheet was being cropped rather then the text).

Since I'm not using the jukebox, I fixed only the wall template. It is possible that all templates are messed up and need to be fixed accordingly.

I'll try to post instructions for generating movie walls which are much simpler for newbies and brain-dead like me. All you need is ThumbGen and several really easy steps. This works for non-networked drives like charm. I only got one HDD inside AIOS and was really simple to do the whole job painlessly on multiple directories!

Big thanks to user Jonatan who led me through the process in a few easy steps.

Another tip. If you are going to fix these jpg files by re-generating info for each movie, you only need to delete the image files (jpg, png). There is a larger file with .tgmd extension which contains all other movie info. Do not delete this file, especially if you are downloading movie infos in auto mode like I did. The .tgmd will make sure your movie is properly selected from imdb database, and only jpeg files will be created anew with proper font this time. In auto mode (unattended) the ThumbGen picks the first movie from the list which may not always be the correct one if there are many movies with the same title, just different year.

One other small issue remains unresolved with the display and templates.

When viewing the movie wall screen (with thumbnails displayed) at the very bottom AIOS show the total number of films in the folder (bottom left) and in the center-bottom the title and the year of the movie. These two pieces of info are cropped, almost entire bottom half of the words/number is clipped. Not sure which template to edit in order to fix this. Any feedback would be appreciated. I will try to figure out and post solution if I can find one.

OK, now I think this is overscanning.
The text [x/y] is rendered by the AIOS (same goes for the selected movie name at the bottom).
The issue is described in details here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=434&start=210#p9990 (and go down), its a little involved, but if you follow the thread from that point you will see a step by step about which files to edits, how to edit them and where to place the edit files.

Have you checked the zooming options on your TV ? what model/make is it ?
