Compiling from Buildroot - Lessons learned

I am getting the same error when compiling...

Yes, Many of links at voxel.dl.sourceforge... are dead or if some are working it gets paused at start and take quite a time to get download. It might be after effect of storm 'sandy'.

I was wondering how this can be enabled? I tried setting the resolution to 720p but playing a 1080p movie does not change the output to 1080p.

Update: looks like this is default behavior if the skin is 720 and resolution set to 1080p, still outputs 1080 to the tv, not sure if this is how it's supposed to work

split gui/display resolution, means run GUI at some resolution while having display at another. For example, set HDTV display to 1080p while running GUI at 720p.

i got around this by
- downloading the file on my laptop
- ftping it to the buildroot-linux/dl subdir
- restarting make

I wanted to see how the split resolution would work, wasn't sure what settings I need to use.
