Close to three weeks without an update. I'm getting antsy for some sweet Pivos love in the form of a firmware update.

Hi All,

I have installed XBMC Linux Beta on my XIOS today and looks good so far but I have few issues.

1. The XIOS remote doesn't respond well when I use the keyboard ( i.e it jumps one letter to another). Is that something any setting that needs to be changed or should I replace my remote ?

2. Some of my local media files just plays fine. But .wmv video files plays only audio and not the video. Should I need to install any extra codec for it to work ?

Please let me know.

Regards,

Ravi

Network: Wired 1Gbit LAN
A/V Setup: Connected directly to a Samsung 32d6500 (LED-TV)
Playback Source: SMB/NFS: Synology NAS & PVR (VU+ Duo)
Video Format: PVR: MPEG2: 576i50 or h264 1080i50, NAS: mixed formats

Issues:
1. You can select 1080p50 in the settings, but the display still operates with 60Hz.
2. Audio/Video out of sync, maybe because of 24Hz & 50Hz files displayed with 60Hz…
3. No subtitles in some files
4. In some TV-Recordings the image is a little restless. This is seen especially on the TV logos, jumping up and down slightly. Maybe a problem with the deinterlacing.

Feature Requests:
1. Automatic switching to 24hz (like RPi)
2. CECEC Support (like RPi)

I don't know if you allready know these issues. So let me know if you need more informations like mediainfo, xbmc.log or something else.

Regards
Frogger

Hello!
I just received Xios DS, looks great!

However, XBMC doesn't show files with russian letters in filenames... How can this be fixed?

I've searched for this issue and haven't had any luck finding a solution in the forum.

1. Randomly resets. Happens in the middle of a movie or if doing a large library update.
1.b. Does not save position in movie when resets, this doesn't surprise me though as it was a random reset.

In all this version has been the best so far. The only thing that bugs me is if the movie or tv show I'm trying to connect to doesn't laod, it stays stuck on trying to load. It does not time out so I can pick another server to choose from. I must unplug the unit.

Try holding the power button on the remote. It usually turn the box off even when it's frozen.

Ok, I am plauing with this box for 3 days now, and I have a few questions:

  1. I can't make it run 50Hz... It is listed in supported resolutions, a I can choose 50Hz in in Settings, but it still stays in 50Hz. All previos boxes (e.g. Revo) were using 50Hz on my TV.
  2. When XBMC mounts ntfs usb drive (500Gb), it doesn't show files with Russian letters in filename. Maybe mounting bug, because those files are shown and play via Smb...
  3. Is there any way of reflashing XBMC Linux with "userdata wiping" option? If I do something wrong in advancedsettings (e.g. wrong mysql server ip), box doesn't boot up, and to "bring it to life" I need first to flash android firmware, than again linux xbmc firmware, because flashing xbmc Linux keeps userdata...
  4. Question - how do I upload my advancedsettings remotely? I looked in forums, but could not find it, so for now I copy it from usb thumb via File Manager in XBMC.
Thank you.
