Update 7/27: sneak peek: XBMC with hw acceleration

Everything related to running XBMC for Android on XIOS DS

2nd issue I uncovered is these versions are not recognizing my NFO files (NFO files work fine with XBMC on my iPad, Macbook).
Fanart is working fine.

Anyone find a work around for this?

I updated to the 7-27 version. Iso support over SMB share has gotten much better. Still a little twitchy on the video but it is watchable. I reloaded all of my video files. Scanned recursively as movie files but it didn't populate the movie tab with them. Isn't a huge issue as it populated the video files tab.

Good job xbmc team. It's coming together nicely.

According to the commits there weren't any changes at all related to samba streaming.

I don't think that was the reason it was better. I think it has something to do with HW acceleration. I'm sure it will get ironed out at some point.

I was trying to decide if I should try the new build or stick with the older one. I'm glad I did. My attempt(with first post) was to give as much info as possible in an attempt to make others more informed.

sorting out audiotack usage under SoftAE was the reason.

Pretty impressed by this unofficial beta build

Postby krelltunez » July 28th, 2012, 5:24 pm

I've gotten this up and running and have not experienced ANY playback issues. Amazing beta build!

I did have to set the display setting in Android to 720p, otherwise I got the small "windowed" video.

Once I changed the system settings to 720p, everything -- and I mean everything -- plays back beautifully. Even 1080p MKVs with DTS sound (obviously downmixed to 2.0).

Stuff takes longer -- transitioning between screen, playing files, etc. -- but that's to be expected in an early beta.

I did have lots of lag using the Neon skin. But once I bit the bullet and went back to Confluence, everything got much faster.

Kudos again to the team, and please let us know if the 720p/1080p stuff gets worked out!

I can't seem to get the smb shares working over my network, I am able to see my shares when running xbmc on my laptop but on the XIOS and my iPad they both give me error 2: share not available. I have tried to disable my firewall and turned off my password requirements for sharing but still no luck..

Any suggestions anyone?

good job team

sql database and thumbnails on share work great. So far the only thing if ran across that doesn't :!: work so good is the on screen display for bitrate and FPS and whatnot. Capital O during a show... FPS works but nothing else

know issue with on screen display for bitrate and FPS, it's quite minimal and the live fps is wrong :) It's something that certainly needs improvement but it is low on the priority list as it is more eye candy than any thing else.
