Games Running Slow

Postby sickgrinder » August 1st, 2012, 10:27 am

Just curious, is there any issue's with slowness with games. I tried FRONTLINE COMMANDO but was just dog slow as if it was running in software mode rather than using HW acceleration. Same thing with even Angry Birds, although playable but seemed like the XIOS was having trouble keeping up with the side to side scrolling.

mmmm ... so you are doubting that no 3D hardware acceleration is running ?
Let me check that game and get back to you.

What sort of FPS do you get in Nenamark1, an extremely low score might indicate something is wrong.

I get a total of 14fps, all tasks killed and CPU set to performance profile.

Thats pretty much what I was getting in Nenamark1 too about 16fps under Android 4.

I flashed back to Android 2 image and re-ran Nenamark1 and it was much more smooth but the strange thing was it gave the same 16fps as before ? I also tried Angry Birds and it seemed smoother in side scrolling.

Maybe it was just a false perception but if others can replicate it there might be some bugs in the GPU driver under Android 4 causing slowdowns is the best way I can describe it.

I would have to agree that it would be some sort of bug, this is my second xios and the first one was the same. There is a huge noticeable lag navigating all the menus, but video on the other hand is flawless. When i get time i'll try getting jelly bean on this and see how it goes.
