The funny thing is, buying another product will literally save you a few dollars.....literally.

Or not. I bought a "knockoff" type device for a specific purpose (wanted something with a slightly different form factor from the XIOS), too. Any money I would've saved I'm going to spend in time fixing stupid little things. It didn't come rooted, so I had to figure out how to do that. It overheats, so I had to find the culprit behind that and underclock it. The remote control's buttons are badly mapped, so that needs to be fixed. It has a keymap that causes external keyboards to act strangely, so that needs to be fixed. It has these low-rez volume controls on the soft button bar that would be great for a tablet, but useless on a TV, so that needs to be fixed. There's no firmware update zip so I can reflash corrupted software, so I have to make my own. Etc, etc. Of course, I'm not going to get support from the company who made this, so I'm on my own. Not cheaper - not even close.

Don't get me wrong, though. I have two XIOS boxes, because I wanted to support Pivos and development of XBMC, but I needed something even smaller. If/when Pivos releases another beefier Android TV box, I'll most likely be buying one of those, too.

No disrespect, but I have always thought that the sumvision and XIOS were clones of the Geniatech Enjoy TV ATV500

None taken, now you know how it works, you have been warned ;)

Take my word on that one, it wont be long before you start seeing panic reports saying "I bricked my unit using the latest upgrade, my unit has just turned into a useless paper weight", good luck getting Geniatech or Sumvision fixing to replace the unit then .. I am giving you guys a heads up.

Ha! I wouldnt put anything that wasnt official from pivos on it and void my warranty, I like it to much to turn it into a paper weight! Besides I can not read Mandarin anyways....
