Had an unknown genre after archiving a few disks and wanted to walk through the steps to correct it.

1. Go to the movie(s) in the "Unknown" genre to identify which movies are in "Unknown".
2. Read the genre name in the NFO files for those film(s).
(For me and I can't fathom who was thinking this but it was Jack Black's Nacho Libre and one of its genres is "Sports Film".)
3. Look in en_Grpgenre file and add the new genre type to the en_Grpgenre file. Hit enter to create end of line marker at end of new genre listing.
(s:<name>Sports Film</name>:<name>Sports</name>:)(Enter)
4. Save
5. Send new en_Grpgenre file to relevant SRJG Language folder/directory.
6. Open SRJG and do Full rebuild of jukebox.
7. Unknown gone and that completely fully centered on "sports" "Sports Film" Nacho Libre is now in the Sports genre and I have no "Unknown".

The other option is to change Sports Film in the movie's NFO to something I already have in my genre files, Sport or Sports, or delete it all together, save the new nfo, go back into SRJG, rebuild the jukebox. If I deleted "Sports Film" in the NFO file, leave "Comedy" and rebuild the jukebox then Nacho Libre would be in the one genre category it really belongs in, Comedy. The Unknown would be gone because SRJG would not see a genre type, "Sports Film" that was not listed in my genre files. "Sports Film" is gone gone gone.....

Next up for me is to get the genre icons into the same format of the existing ones. Have the basic steps by reading "How to create mirror image effect" threads. Appears Photoshop was used to make the originals. Can be done with PaintNet, etc., as well. Still not sure what the font is though on the originals.

I now have 100 iso's to play around with in srjg. I successfully adjusted the en_genreGrp file to the following...I had 3 different sports categories displaying (Sports, Sport, and Sports Film). Now only Sports is displayed (thats how I know I was successful.

s:<name>Sci-Fi</name>:<name>Science fiction</name>:
s:<name>Science fiction</name>:<name>Science Fiction</name>:
s:<name>Musicals</name>:<name>Musical</name>:
s:<name>Sports Film</name>:<name>Sport</name>:
s:<name>Sport</name>:<name>Sports</name>:

However, I must be missing something with the en_genre file. I adjusted a few movies in nfo pad (like with armageddon I erased the genre of foreign because that didn't seem right to me), but there is still 1 movie in unknown that I'm struggling with (Body Of Lies). The nfo file reads:

<genre>
<name>Action</name>
<name>Adventure</name>
<name>Drama</name>
<name>Suspense</name>
<name>Thriller</name>
</genre>

and my en_genre reads:

All Movies>All Movies
Unknown>Unknown
Action>Action
Adult>Adult
Adventure>Adventure
Animation>Animation
Biography>Biography
Comedy>Comedy
Crime>Crime
Documentary>Documentary
Drama>Drama
Family>Family
Fantasy>Fantasy
Foreign>Foreign
History>History
Holiday>Holiday
Horror>Horror

Musical>Musical
Mystery>Mystery
Romance>Romance
Science Fiction>Science Fiction
Sports>Sports
Suspense>Suspense
Thriller>Thriller
War>War
Western>Western

I don't see where the error is. Also, assuming the error is with the suspense category, shouldn't Body Of Lies still show up under the other 4 categories listed in its nfo file or if srjg can't read 1 genre in the nfo file the movie is then only placed as unknown?

Is the movie showing up in genres Action, Adventure, Drama, Suspense, Thriller and Unknown?

Is one genre missing?

You have each jpg and named exactly like your genre listing in your genre images directory?

You did full rebuild of JukeBox after changing the nfo?

Other movies with the same genre names going into Thriller, etc.?

With the other movies being in their genre's, etc., and the only one movie not working I'd say it is either the nfo file or that it wasn't rebuilt in the jukebox.

Here is a sample from one of my nfo files.

Yes, I did a full jukebox rebuild. There are movies (just not Body Of Lies) in the Action, Adventure, Drama, and Thriller genres. There are no movies in the Suspense genre (apparently I haven't coverted any into iso's yet). So I adjusted a movies nfo (aliens) to include suspense, and aliens showed up in the suspense genre as well. So I figured it was something must of happened with body of lies in thumbgen, so I re-ran it in thumbgen and it worked, so no unkown genre anymore and now Body Of Lies shows up in all categories.

And as I side note I followed jsmiddleton4 lead and adjusted the main background image of the srjg jukebox, sort of a funky movie library.

"and it worked"

Congrats. Way to hang in there. And as a byproduct you've learned some of the basic stuff for SRJG and the AIOS.

Background looks great.
